A dependent permit may be issued to a person residing in Belize who:

• is of retired age (55 years or older)
• disabled person
• children under 5 years of age

The application must be made by a resident of Belize who is able to provide and continue to provide adequate accommodation for the applicant. This person can only apply for a dependent permit if the dependent is an immediate family member.

Fees with effect from 1 May 2020.

All fees are in Belize dollars.

You must apply at the Immigration Office providing the following supporting documents. The application is processed on submission and a Dependent Permit sticker is placed on the dependent passport.

1. Letter of Financial Support ($1.50 stamp affixed)
2. Photographs (2)
3. Birth Certificate / Marriage Certificate (Translated if not in English)
4. Letter of Authority
5. Valid Passport for applicants
6. Sponsor identification
7. Recent Bank Statement (Letter) If needed, banking financials will be requested.
8. Employment Letter (Employer Identification)
9. Copy of work permit / residency

10. Business Owner – (BCCAR) – Registration & Detailed Extract

ANY DOCUMENT NOT IN ENGLISH, REQUIRES TRANSLATION.

If applying for spouse, a marriage certificate must be submitted.

If applying for a child, the child’s birth certificate must be presented.

If applying for a parent, your birth certificate must be presented.

If applying for a sibling, the sibling’s and your birth certificates must be presented.

If the birth certificate or marriage certificate is in languages other than English, the documents must be translated by proper authorities and signed.

If your dependent is a sibling under 18 years of age, you must present a letter of authority from the child’s parents.
