Dependent’s Permit

A dependent permit may be issued to a person residing in Belize who

  • is of retired age (55 years or older)
  • disabled person
  • children under 5 years of age

The application must be made by a resident of Belize who is able to provide and continue to provide adequate accommodation for such dependent. This person can only apply for dependent permit if dependent is an immediate family member.

  • Siblings

Fees

Fees with effect from 1 May 2020.

All fees are in Belize dollar.

Nationality Fees
People’s Republic of China BZ$3000.00
India, Nepal, Thailand, Burma, Bangladesh, Pakistan, Sri Lanka BZ$750.00
All other nationals BZ$200.00

 

How to Apply

You must apply at the Immigration Office providing the following supporting documents. The application is processed on submission and a Dependent Permit sticker is placed on the dependent passport.

  1. Letter of Financial Support
  2. Photographs
  3. Birth Certificate / Marriage Certificate
  4. Letter of Authority
  5. Passport
  6. Proof of Belizean Identity
  7. Recent Bank Statement
  8. 1 year return ticket
Birth Certificate / Marriage Certificate

If applying for spouse a marriage certificate must be submitted

If applying for child, the child’s birth certificate must be presented

If applying for parent, your birth certificate must be presented

If applying for sibling, the siblings and your birth certificate must be presented

If birth certificate  or marriage certificate is in languages other than English must be translated by proper authority and signed.

Letter of Authority

If your dependent is a sibling under 18 years of age you must present a letter of authority from the child’s parents.
